Hello, I am Kimberly Anderson. I am a licensed massage therapist in the state of GA and would like to take this opportunity to tell you what makes me the right massage therapist for you.
I LOVE what I do!
My initial introduction to massage therapy was while living in Colorado Springs, CO, where I had many associates in the professional and amateur competitive sport industries. They shared with me the importance of massage therapy for the endurance athlete. After my initial, positive reaction to the “Sports Massage”, I became enamored with the spa/relaxation massage and the whole mind/body health connection. This began the long journey to becoming a therapist myself.
I completed my massage therapy training in Athens, GA at the Athens Institute for Massage. I have passed board certification tests and am licensed to practice in the state of Georgia. Since being licensed, I have worked in my own practice, where I have established a regular clientele made up mostly of pain management and sports training cases.
In addition, I have worked with The University of Kentucky, Southern Methodist University and the University of Virginia Swim Teams. I assisted the UVA athletes at the University of Georgia Invitational and both the Men’s and Women’s ACC Championships, where the Men’s AND Women’s teams became ACC Champions in February 2011! More recently, I worked with the SMU Lady Mustangs as they became C-USA Champions in February 2012.
My specialty IS Sports Massage, but I also practice Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Cranial Sacral, and Bowen Therapy, hot stone and chair massage. I am currently studying assisted stretching and Thai Massage which will soon be added to the menu of services.
Personally, I am a mother and wife living in Athens, GA. I love to work out and am active in the Athens music scene. I have a BS in Business from Cornell University.
